Matthew 13, verses 1 through 9, and 18 through 231 John 2, verses 20 and 27Matthew 13, verses 10 through 12In the Parable of the Sower, we are shown that seeds fell or were planted in four different places: 1) off the side of the road; 2) amongst the rocks; 3) amongst thorny plants; and 4) in good ground. The first three bear little or no fruit, and result in keeping one out of the Kingdom of God.Only the fourth provides understanding and abiding in the Word, which are requirements for entry into the Kingdom of God.John, in his first Epistle, teaches that we need the “unction” or annointing of the Holy Spirit in order to understand the Word, which allows us to abide in the Holy One - aka, the Kingdom of God.Jesus reiterates this, saying that only believers are able to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom. In short, we must live our lives in a way that allows the Holy Spirit to direct everything we do, setting aside the ways of the world in order to claim our full inheritance of the abundant spiritual fruit that is only found in the Kingdom.
