James 1, verses 12 through 15Hebrews 2, verse 181 John 4, verse 4Matthew 26, verse 412 Peter 3, verse 171 Corinthians 10, verse 13Temptation in this world is relentess and cruel, deceiving us, infecting us and seducing us into separation from God.The original Hebrew and Greek words for temptation mean "trial." To live in a human body is to face trials, one after another, every moment of every day, everywhere our bodies happen to be.God does not tempt us, nor is He ever tempted of evil. But He allows us to be tempted as a trial of our faith. These trials, as we give up the chase for satisfying the desires of our flesh and seductions of Satan, build us up and mature us in the Spirit, making us formidable opponents of the enemy, as Jesus showed us in Matthew 4, verses 1 through 11.The Bible teaches us a simple way to respond to temptation. Watch it dispassionately, in the moment when the seduction begins. And then bring it to the Lord in prayer. That simple. And yet, that profound. We learn through our trials that nothing in this world could possibly be better than our intimate connection with God.Other creators who help build my faith and assurance:Satan's Little Season eschatology:Jason Jack: https://www.youtube.com/@UCH2STZjzRvBEOcPLug_CruQ Brother Phil: https://www.youtube.com/@UC7Dgni5SjUvFBZyQeQgLrMg The Master's Harvest: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw_EZA6BCEO1KpQOFsXXD_gKing James Version:Chick Tracts (David W.
