Happy Sunday, ambient music lovers! Summer is supposed to be over, right? Just checking because we’re still in its grasp here in the Austin area and the temperature is once again in the triple digits. Hopefully things will cool down by Halloween!
Due to yet another busy week, I didn’t get much time to play with the synths since I last posted. This morning I spent some time putting together a patch and ended up not liking anything I came up with, which was kind of stressing me out. That’s the opposite of what music is supposed to do for me! So, I left to grab some lunch, came back after a couple of hours, pulled all my patch cables and started again with a fresh mindset.
The new patch is more laid back and relaxing than what I was going for earlier in the day. If I had more time, I might have tweaked things a bit more. I created something that I found enjoyable to listen to and that’s all that matters.
Patch Notes
This patch is simple-ish. Pam’s is running a Euclidean clock . Dice drives gates and pitch CV to all 3 voices - Plaits, Quarks, and Rings. Even though Dice quantizes CV, I like to run pitch CV through a separate Quantizer to restrict notes to chords. Mimeophon provides a bit of delay and FX Aid is the Reverb.
