The New Moon is my favorite moment in the lunar cycle. It is the point of pure potential—the energetic clean slate we’re offered every single month. Whether we consciously participate or not, the Moon continues her cycles, but when we choose to align with them, something powerful happens. Momentum builds. Energy ripples outward. Life begins to respond.
The New Moon is the only time each month when the Sun and Moon meet in the exact same sign and degree. The Sun represents our life force, our presence, and our identity in this lifetime. The Moon is our emotional record keeper, holding our memories, patterns, and lived emotional experiences. When they come together, they speak the same language. This creates a rare moment of coherence between who we are and how we feel—a potent opening for new beginnings.
Wherever this New Moon falls in your natal chart is where you are being offered a fresh start this month. Preparing for that moment—slowing down, reflecting, releasing what no longer fits—allows the activation itself to land more deeply and work more powerfully.
A Grounded, Strategic New Beginning
This New Moon takes place in Capricorn, a cardinal earth sign focused on leadership, initiation, and long-term stability. Capricorn does not rush. It builds. It plans. It asks for a solid foundation before taking the next step forward.
This is not an impulsive New Moon. It is one that asks for maturity, responsibility, and intentional structure. Capricorn teaches us that real progress happens when we commit to the long game.
What makes this New Moon especially potent is that it is not just the Sun and Moon in Capricorn—we have a Capricorn stellium (a cluster of planets in the same sign)
The Capricorn Stellium
* Sun & Moon at 28° Capricorn
* Mercury at 26° Capricorn
* Mars at 26° Capricorn
Four planets clustered together, all speaking the same Saturn-ruled language.
Mercury in Capricorn brings wisdom, discernment, and future-oriented thinking. This is the mind of the elder, the strategist, the one who understands consequences and timelines.
Mars in Capricorn is action with intention. Mars here does not waste energy. It moves when the probability of success is high. It is disciplined, steady, and deeply committed to long-term results.
Together, this energy supports:
* Strategic planning
* Wise decision-making
* Sustainable action
* Leadership rooted in integrity
The invitation here is to move steadily—without rushing or overworking. Capricorn energy can become unbalanced when we push too hard or lose ourselves in productivity. This New Moon asks for focused effort, not burnout.
Pluto, Venus, and the Call for Transformational Change
Planets that are conjunct are usually in the same sign although because the New Moon is occurring at a very late degree of Capricorn it is close to anything in the early degree of Aquarius. The New Moon and Sun at 28 degrees of Capricorn are conjunct Venus at 1° Aquarius conjunct Pluto at 3° Aquarius.
Venus speaks to:
* Self-worth
* Values
* Money and resources
* Relationships
* Feminine energy and well-being
Pluto being the only outer planet in the bunch forming the conjunction- trumps the other planets and infuses them with its need for transformation that cannot be undone. It is the “this must change” planet.
Pluto & Venus in Aquarius, conjunct- broadcasts a message to the collective:Our values are evolving. Our relationships to power, money, and belonging are shifting.
Aquarius connects us to the future, to mass consciousness, to technology and humanitarian ideals. With Pluto here, the future is not optional—it is streaming in like Sun after weeks of rain.
This New Moon carries a message about building new structures for a new world. Structures that are more inclusive, more conscious, and more aligned with collective well-being.
With Pluto in Aquarius’ influence-You may notice opportunities that feel like shortcuts—not reckless leaps, but unexpected openings that move things forward faster than anticipated. Trust your discernment here. Capricorn builds slowly, but Aquarius reminds us that sometimes evolution requires a bold pivot.
A Strong Saturn Signature
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, and Aquarius is co-ruled by Saturn and Uranus. Making this a deeply Saturnian New Moon. Saturn governs boundaries, responsibility, delays, and long-term success. It does not deny—it refines.
Adding to this theme, the Sun and Moon form a sextile to Saturn in Pisces.
A sextile is an opportunity aspect. It requires conscious participation.
Saturn in Pisces is asking us to:
* Dissolve outdated emotional patterns
* Release illusions and blind spots
* Allow endings to complete fully
With Neptune also in Pisces, this New Moon offers a profound opportunity for emotional and energetic clearing. Blind spots may surface—not to punish us, but to free us.
This is not always comfortable. Seeing clearly can feel destabilizing at first. But clarity is what allows true new beginnings to take root.
An important intention for this New Moon:
“I am willing to see what is ready to be revealed, and I release fear around seeing clearly.”
Earth Trines and Manifestation Potential
Uranus in Taurus forms a trine to this Capricorn cluster. Trines are supportive, harmonious aspects, and when they occur in earth signs, they carry real manifestation potential.
Uranus brings surprise, innovation, and sudden change. In Taurus, it has been slowly but surely reshaping our relationship to security, money, and stability.
This trine suggests:
* Unexpected support
* Breakthroughs around finances or resources
* Tangible shifts that feel stabilizing rather than chaotic
Stay open. Light a candle. Name what you are ready to receive. Earth energy responds when we participate consciously.
Balancing Capricorn with Cancer
While most of the focus is in Capricorn, Jupiter in Cancer quietly supports this chart. Cancer is Capricorn’s polarity—it asks us to stay connected to our emotional world.
Jupiter in Cancer expands our understanding of:
* Family (chosen and biological)
* Emotional safety
* Nurturance and belonging
Capricorn can suppress emotion in the name of productivity. This New Moon asks us to consciously invite emotional presence back in. Ask yourself:
What wants to expand within me emotionally during this New Moon?
