A reasonable, educated guess tells us that about 10 million monkeys are alive on Earth today. And based on their distribution, less than 5% of them will ever see a human being or any evidence that humans exist. The big monkey-city tourist spots are rare, the overwhelming majority of monkeys live within tropical rain-forests where humans do not venture. And since the beginning of recorded history, a small percentage of humans from all over the world have reported seeing large hairy hominids.

Amazonian tribes call it the Mapinguari. Andean Traditions call them Ukumarí. The Sherpa people of the Himalayas call it the Meh-Teh, or Yeti, and see it as a guardian of the mountains. In Australia the Aborigines call them, Yowie. In the Congo, they are the Otang. In India, the Chu Mung. In Siberia, the Chuchunya. In Mongolia, the Almasty. The Cherokee speak of a large hairy man with mystical powers they call Tsul ‘Kalu. The Seminole and Miccosukee tribes of the Florida swamp lands described a foul-smelling hairy giant they call Esti Capcaki.

The highest concentration of reported sightings has come from the Pacific coastal area at the US/Canadian border. In the Vancouver area. Vancouver was built upon a four-thousand year old trading center operated by over forty independent Nations. Nations known as, the Coast Salish. The Coast Salish people have a long history with this enigmatic creature. They call them sésq’ets, which means “wild man” or “hairy man.” This is where the word, Sasquatch, originates from. In every account, this mysterious hairy creature is both feared and respected, and masterful at staying hidden. Sasquatch is not a monkey, and appears to be more advanced and intelligent than humans.

The origin of the name, Bigfoot, comes from the compelling amount of footprint evidence that has been collected from all over the world. Thousands of casts have been taken that show several anatomical differences compared to human feet. The most notable difference being a metatarsal hinge that humans do not have, which appears to be built for stability and strength.

There are several audio recordings of vocalizations made by Sasquatch. Some have been studied by linguists and said to be a spoken language, and otolaryngologists say the human voice box is incapable of replicating them.

And while hoaxes are more prevalent than not, there is some film and video of Sasquatch that can not be debunked.

Perhaps the best images ever taken, have been taken by Todd Standing in Canada. Nobody has been able to debunk them, but the main argument is that they are too good to be real. Todd has brought several outside researchers into the field with him and convinced them that Sasquatch is living in the area.

In 2013, Dr Melba Ketchum led a team of genetic scientists in the analysis of over a hundred DNA samples. These samples were all acquired by hunters, trackers, and native tribal councils, and were witnessed to be the hair, blood, flesh and saliva from a living Sasquatch. Under blind protocol, multiple leading genetic labs were involved without knowing what the samples were. These labs produced a complete genetic sequence. The mitochondrial DNA, which only shows the maternal lineage, was human. And the nuclear DNA, which includes paternal lineage, showed a genetic sequence that does not match any known organism.

Many eye-witness accounts involve shape-shifting, UFOs, balls of light, and seeing the creature disappear through a portal. Video taken by Barbara Shupe shows something similar to the effect from the 1987 Hollywood movie, “Predator,” where an alien hunter has the ability to cloak itself. The visual effects artist who designed that effect inspected the video and could not debunk it.

Only about 10% of the land on Earth is inhabited by humans, and we are not alone.
