Perhaps the best prayer we can offer today sounds like knuckles hitting the wood. The rhythm of our pleading. The hollow echo of the hallway outside the closed door.
But resurrection means the knocking is never in vain.
We do not knock on the door of a stranger. We knock on the door of the One who knows our name. Who hears before we speak. Who has already rolled the stone away.
