Okay. You ready for this week? Have you ever had a moment where you did something bold (or even borderline crazy), and afterward, you thought, "Did I really just do that?" If your answer is yes, pull up a seat and grab your favorite cup of something because you're about to meet your biblical bestie: Jael.
Now, Jael’s story (which you can find in Judges 4) isn’t exactly one they highlight in Sunday school. I mean, homegirl took a tent peg and drove it through the enemy commander’s head. Yep, you read that right. Sis didn't hesitate. She didn't pause for a prayer meeting. She didn't wait for confirmation from three wise elders. Nope, she saw a problem, saw an opportunity, and acted boldly (and, yes, a bit ruthlessly).
Now, am I suggesting you go around wielding tent pegs? Absolutely not. (Please don’t.) But Jael’s moment of outrageous courage got me thinking. How many times have I let fear stop me from stepping up? How often have I seen a problem and waited for someone else to act because I didn't feel brave enough, qualified enough, or even "good enough"?
