Description

Hello and welcome to Entangled! The podcast where we explore the science of consciousness, the true nature of reality, and what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience. I’m your host Jordan Youkilis, and today I’m joined by Kent Kachejian as part of the miniseries on Maharishi Vedic Science. Kent is a doctoral candidate at MIU studying Consciousness & Human Potential. In this episode, Kent discusses how his love for fantasy, language, and philosophy brought him to Fairfield, Iowa. We discuss the life and lessons he learned from Tolkien, and the disciplinary matrices from Ancient Greece to today. Next, we consider the paradigm conflicts that philosophers and scientists face when they posit theories that buck societal norms. We then discuss Socrates, the gadfly of Athens, and his trial/execution for corrupting the youth and worshipping strange gods. We discuss the prescient warnings Socrates offered regarding the decline of Athenian ideals and the parallels between his life and that of Jesus Christ. From there, we discuss the value of silence and the importance of living your moral code, even when its inconvenient for external circumstances. We end the discussion considering the nature of dark matter, the subtle body, qualia of thought and the concept of Atma. Outros for this and all episodes available at entangledpodcast.substack.com.
