Hello and welcome to Entangled! The podcast where we explore the science of consciousness, the true nature of reality, and what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience. I’m your host Jordan Youkilis, and today I’m joined by my friend Kristy Bendetti. Kristy and I start the conversation discussing Kristy’s childhood in New Jersey and her subsequent move to Colorado. We talk about the “split state” dynamics between politics in North and South Jersey, and the increasingly polar political dialogue in the country at large.
We discuss our current economic system, whether it’s possible to restructure it in a way that maximizes human happiness, and how best to do so if it is. We ask whether the younger generation today is more open-minded and/or group-minded relative to older generations. We then dive into the nuances of the transgender movement and discuss free speech. Kristy then describes her experience of private school and the divisions between socioeconomic classes. We next consider one of the country’s most polarizing topics: abortion.
After that, Kristy describes her relationship with her immediate family members and with religion. We consider the nature and structure of time, and Kristy describes her “bad trips” on psychedelics. From there, we contrast spirituality with religion and consider the nature of love. We end the conversation considering ideas of clarity & perfect order.
