I spent most of my life chasing symptoms and trying to fix them. I’m sure you are, or were, in the same boat. I think most of the population is in a constant state of whack-a-mole when it comes to their health. And you know what, it never ends if you only focus on the symptoms.
Welcome to Quantum Waves of Wellness. I’m your host, Dr. Paula Apro—Doctor of Natural Medicine, holistic health mentor, and your guide to unlocking the healing power within. Today, I want to try to explain why chasing symptoms is never going to work and what is really controlling your health.
The biggest ah-ha moment and breakthrough you can have when it comes to your health is to stop looking at the body as a bunch of separate parts.
The most terrifying thought is that this is exactly how doctors are trained, but we need to rise above this false concept. We have all been conditioned into this way of thinking.
You have a heart issue, you go to a heart doctor. You have hormone problems, you go see an endocrinologist. You have kidney issues, you see a nephrologist. And if you have pain somewhere, you focus right where the pain is.
After decades of doing these things, where are we? Are we all living in perfect health? I’m betting not. So maybe this system is not the best idea.
And speaking of system, that is exactly what your body is - a system where everything is connected and works in harmony… not a set of isolated pieces.
All of our cells are constantly communicating and constantly adjusting, trying to keep our bodies in balance. This is known as homeostasis.
* If your temperature goes up, you sweat.
* If your blood sugar drops, your body releases stored energy.
* If you need more oxygen, your breathing changes.
Every second of the day.Your heart is beating.Your lungs are working.Your brain is processing.Your body is repairing, regulating, and adapting.
And you’re not thinking about any of it. It just happens all the time, automatically. So naturally, the question becomes- What actually is controlling all of this?
Well, underneath everything is a very important feedback system of communication where information is sent around the body, to and from the brain, to all the cells. Your body is always sensing what’s going on, interpreting that information, and then responding accordingly.
Which brings up another good question? What is coordinating all of this? What’s keeping everything running smoothly?
The body has to be able to send and receive information clearly in order for it to function properly. We’ve been taught that this happens through the nervous system and through hormones.
And that’s true. But that’s not the whole story. There’s another very important layer to this. A more subtle level of communication. This is what I refer to as the biofield. Now, you don’t have to get too caught up in the terminology, just think of it like this:
The body isn’t just chemical. It’s informational. There are patterns, signals, and communication happening beyond what we can physically see.
It’s that information that coordinates everything and is the most important driving force for your health. Ironically, it’s the invisible stuff that makes all the difference! But unfortunately, it’s still very much “invisible” to Western medicine.
When that communication is clear, and the proper information flows effortlessly through the system, the body does a pretty great job of taking care of itself. But when static in the lines causes that communication to start to break down, that’s when things go bad.
There are so many reasons this can happen. Stress and toxins are big factors, but unprocessed emotions are probably the biggest culprit in the breakdown of internal communication.
And when that communication breakdown happens, the body starts to go into adaptation. It does what it needs to do to keep the heart beating, the lungs pumping, and all the other things that happen automatically. But many things start to shift and suffer. This is where chronic problems are born.
This is when you start to get the general sense that something isn’t quite right, but you can’t really pinpoint it. Your body hasn’t given up. It’s still trying to correct itself during all of this. It just doesn’t have the clarity it needs to do the job well.
The good news is that the body is incredibly resilient. When you give it the right conditions, it knows how to come back into balance. And that’s the focus of my work - giving the body the right conditions to heal.
Instead of focusing on symptoms, I look at this invisible communication system to see how information is flowing and what may be stopping the flow.
It’s so important to know where the static is and where the body is calling for the most attention. Many people may struggle with the same types of chronic problems, but everybody has a different hidden underlying reason for these issues.
Once we identify the areas where information is not flowing properly, we can help support the system using frequencies. Not just generic frequencies, but the ones that your body is actually calling for. It knows best what it needs and when it needs it.
When we work with the body at the level it actually operates on - energy and information, the communication improves, and everything else starts to shift in the right direction.
