This week’s episode of A Midwest Conversation podcast talks about a few different bills Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed. One of those bills is the new two-year budget.
After that, we move into details about a bill introduced in the House of Representatives giving insurance companies and banks a shield from the law if they decide to work with state-legal marijuana companies.
There is a major stall in the infrastructure talks in DC. Democrats are beginning to buck the idea of a budget reconciliation bill because they can not agree on a price tag. Republicans in the senate are signaling they will vote no on the bipartisan bill over comments Joe Biden made about wanting to pass both bills.
Finally, I rant about the new committee passed in the House of Representatives surrounding the January 6th riot. In my view, the need for a committee to investigate the events on January 6th is unnecessary and will only lead to more government overreach and spying on private Americans.
