Padre sits down with Larry Behnke. He is a retired Soldier, law enforcement officer, trainer, leader, and one of the most respected NCOs he has ever had the honor of serving with.
Larry shares his story from growing up as a self-described “feral kid” in Arkansas, to joining the Army at 19, serving in the airborne infantry, deploying overseas, and building a career dedicated to leadership, law enforcement, and training others.
Along the way, he reflects on the mentors who shaped him, the friends he lost, the questions that still remain, and the responsibility he feels to live a life they would be proud of. The conversation ends with the newest chapter of his story of his decision to run for Lonoke County Sheriff and what leadership, service, accountability, and leaving an organization better than you found it mean to him.
“He never gave up, and he was always learning and always teaching. That’s it. Just leave it a better place.
