Well hello, and welcome back to another episode of The Divine Feminist.
This episode is a bit of a mood shift from last time around, but we make no apologies for that. We do, however, issue a warning:
This episode contains mentions of sexual violence and violence against women in non-graphic terms. Please take care of yourself as you listen and, if you need to skip this episode and return next month, know that is absolutely fine.
This month though, we start with that rage which rises when you see a woman's fear ignored, or read about a case that makes your stomach turn. It's a feeling we've been told to ignore, tamper down or be afraid of. But, far from being a malfunction, that rage is important information — information that is older and wiser than you think.
In this follow-up to the ANCIENT. FEMININE. RAGE. blog post (available to read here, Ceryn takes the next step. If our rage is inherited, if we truly are not facing this alone, then what are we supposed to do with that?
Starting with the story of a video which brought exactly that rage to the surface, Ceryn explores how women's anger has been edited out of our stories, why remembering our lineage is a relay rather than a finish line, and how rage given a job can steer us to build something entirely new.
