Research revealed decades ago that high-school athletes who play multiple sports are more likely to go D1 than specialists.
D1 athletes in multiple sports are more likely to go Pro.
You could say it’s just because they were better athletes.
This would be true in some cases but when we dig deeper we arrive to a deeper truth that will change the way to train forever.
Being athletic is about applying the best solutions faster.
Poly-Athletes have more solution options.
Hugo Sanchez
Let me explain with the example of the first and greatest Mexican football player to leave Mexico.
He was also a serious gymnast as a young man.
Watch a few of his goals and you’ll soon see the connection.
He was so good in the air it was like cheating.
Thanks Coach Berner for sharing this example.
Rory Delap
Rory was a javelin thrower and he assisted for 35 goals playing for Stoke.
His son Liam Delap was banned from taking long throw-ins due to upset parents and hasn’t taken one since childhood.
Delap was once an expert at long throw-ins like his father Rory, who was famous at Stoke for his trademark move.
Delap quit the tactic as a child after complaints from other parents that it ruined the game.
They took a skill from another sport and became so good they literally called it cheating!
This Poly-Athlete crossover happening in every sport but until now it’s been through luck and chance.
Professional teams and athletes at all level have been blind to the possibilities for exponential improvement by making their players Poly Athletes.
More about Poly-Athletes tomorrow through the example of the 2013 all-time record breaking Sydney Roosters.
They were the first and last team I coached full-time as the leading coach in the Australian National Rugby League (NRL).
I didn’t realise it at the time but I was changing the game with the ideas that I’ve just started to share recently in my book.
It’s called “New Athlete Project - How To Create The Greatest Athletic Transformations Of All-Time”.
I’ll share more about how I implemented New Athlete at the Roosters tomorrow.
If you’d like a copy of the book you get it forever when you take on the 25-Day New Athlete Challenge for $69 (no-contract, simple cancellation).
There is a special deal for those who purchase while the pre-launch offer is still LIVE.
