This week’s podcast is on something very near and dear to my heart: meeting your own needs.
Repeat after me: this isn’t selfish.
In fact meeting your own needs is something that everyone in your world will benefit from.
But most of all YOU.
And this may be radical to say, but you get to care about yourself.
You get to value yourself, deeply.
You get to give yourself understanding, encouragement and compassion.
You get to go as far as being the love of your own life.
And if you truly behaved like that was true you’d bet your bottom dollar you’d be getting a glass of water, noticing when you need a break or a hug, challenging yourself…whatever you needed.
Yes, you can do it every single day.
Because here’s the thing: it’s really easy to neglect ourselves. To be in the pattern of giving out so much to others that we don’t consider our body and mind.
AND that has an impact.
It’s a practice that might seem foreign, especially if you are used to putting other people first, and it can transform your relationships. There’s also a deep internal peace that comes with letting yourself be. If you’re tired rest. If you need a break take one.
When we stop telling stories about what our needs mean and start acting on them we build such beautiful self-trust.
