Thank you to everyone who tuned into my live video! Join me for my next live video in the app.

Michael Friedman and I just recorded a livestream that brings aging out of the abstract and into real life.

Michael is in his 80s; I’m in my 50s. Between us, we bring more than 75 years of advocacy for aging—Michael for over five decades, and me for more than 25 years. Michael founded the Geriatric Mental Health Alliance, and we first met decades ago when I was President of the State Society on Aging of New York.

What makes this conversation different is that we’re not just talking about aging—we’re living it, at two different life stages. We explore how aging actually looks and feels as we move through midlife and into older age, and how lived experience deepens (and sometimes challenges) what we know from the academic side of aging.

We’re learning from each other in real time—and we want to keep the conversation going. If there are questions about aging you’d like us to address next week, leave them in the comments.
