“The sense of self arises in the thinking is taken by most people as the ground of their being.”
“But then you say, every activity and their consciousness is dancing around and in the response to the overriding ever permeating sense of self that arises in the thinking, and that sets the mood for the day.”

“Yeah. Yes. That is a profound insight that you share, and that's also where the entrapment is. So, we are compelled by the mind to engage in this ongoing dialogue where there is a sense of Self that is forced upon us that we can agree with or disagree with, or we can reject or we can accept.”
“But that is what constitutes most of our response, in the thinking. And it's not grounded in reality. You are not responding to life. You are responding to the thinking.”
“And to recognize that most of our responses are a response to a sense of self that gets created or appears in our consciousness. But at least that would leave you speechless, and it would leave you with a question, what is my true self?”
