Excerpt of the Podcast:
John Kremer:
“I noticed one thing in your diary from December. That you said is that, "All the time I spend on being engaged with problems that are not really problems and then creating solutions to those problems that do not exist."
“I think there are a lot of us that do that, and probably most people spend most of the time creating solutions to problems or trying to find solutions to problems that really don't exist.”
Dr Louis Koster:
“Yeah. It is hilarious, and at the same time, it's what people do, what I do, what we all do, how we get into the thinking, or how the thinking grabs us. And the other day it came to me that it's really... it is ignorance that keeps us in the prison, so to speak, in the entrapment of the thinking. It's just we never had a look at that. And there's nothing mischievous or malevolent about it. It is, never had a look at what draws my attention, what has me be fascinated, and what has me become attached to what comes up in my consciousness?”
“And this journey of awareness, this in the particular, this process of allowing, letting be, that really, really gave me the opportunity to have a look, to pause, rather than being in this frantic, nonstop engagement with the thinking. It gave me the opportunity to just pause and have a look. Because when you allow for what arise in your consciousness, it's like you have stopped a movie.”
“And also that attention is freed up, you can give it your full attention, and then you might see it for what it is. And when you find that out, when you see for what it is, then basically what came to my awareness is that there's nothing, it's that there's nothing to see. Yet we experience it as reality, and that is fascinating.”
“How is that?”
“And how can we get hooked in the thinking to the point that it drives our behaviour, that it becomes all consuming? And so I think it's a very worthwhile investigation. And so that is what this is all about, is to set yourself free from the tyranny of the mind and to become aware of your own true being.”
