Description

I'm at an inflection point with my business where I'm considering what the scope of the problem is and whether it is a lifestyle business or one that can rapidly grow.

I've learned from interviewing people who have done it that there is very little chance of work-life balance if you build a $1 billion company. It can happen but it’s not likely.

With a lifestyle business, there is plenty of room for a well-balanced life.

Another question that comes up:

How in control am I of making this decision?

Many times the biggest companies were started with not an inkling of intention and were almost byproducts of tinkering and curiosity.

At an early stage, it's very difficult to tell what the size of the endeavor you are signing up for.

I'm leaning towards a model where I aim for a lifestyle business and then be happily surprised if something more happens. I don't really want to raise money unless its from investors who are extremely aligned.

I've uploaded my interview with Sahil Lavingia above, who raised money for a billion dollar company but ended up with a lifestyle business.
