I like to make a similar point which is that the definition of whether something is signal vs noise to you is mostly subjective.
Yes, there are situations where what people consider to be a signal is incredibly similar for people, for example, an exit sign in a burning building.
But for most people, most of the time our interests are unique and not necessarily shared with our neighbors.
At this point, it becomes an individual journey to uncover what is signal vs what is noise.
