Ep. 006: This is the first part of a series in which I explore the root causes behind depression and the mindsets that can contribute to it, and in the end I’m going to delve into ways to overcome and deal with depression in a healthy and effective way. In this episode I talk about my experience with depression and some of the ways that have helped me to get better with it. That it has been a lifelong battle for me, yet through talking about it there is light at the end of the tunnel.I examine the chemical aspects of what can contribute to depression including dopamine, serotonin and cortisol. Through my research, I take a peek into Naturopath Jodi Gozzard’s expertise on the subjects of allergies, gut health and diet and how they can have a real impact on emotional well-being. I hope that this sheds light onto a subject that doesn’t get talked about as much as it should and has become a silent epidemic.
