Episode # 011:  In this episode I talk about the importance of breaks not just at work but in your personal pursuits of learning.  I mean most of us want to be as productive as possible so we can get recognized and possibly get a raise, right?  How taking frequent breaks can actually lead to better focus and higher productivity while preventing burn out (which many of us suffer from) among other amazing benefits.  Pretty crazy right?  I dive into the data and reveal some rather surprising benefits that I just had to try out in my own life.  Why did a company called The Energy Project implement a 90 minute break policy?I also explore the concept of harmonious passion in Adam Grant’s book Hidden Potential where he reveals the three benefits of taking breaks. Studies have shown that better work-rest ratios report higher engagement levels and job satisfaction which adds up to increased employee retention.  And finally better ways to make the most out of your break time!
