Goal setting is key for any person that wants to improve at performance, athletics, fitness or health and wellness. It is crucial to have a mix of outcome goals and process-oriented goals.
But what happens when you don’t reach your goals?
Did you fail?
Definitely not, as long as you learn what happened, why you missed your goals and use the “failure” to grow and hit your goals next year.
In this podcast episode, I walk through what I did when I missed my goal this year.
Step 1: Debrief on what happened
Step 2: Gather data to build a better plan
Step 3: Learn from mistakes and set new goals for next year
Step 4: Execute
I go into much more detail about what specifically I learned from my “failure” this year and what I’m going to change going into next year.
P.S. One of the biggest issues for achieving my goal was an injury. If you are dealing with pain or injury that is holding you back from reaching your goals, I’d love to chat. Schedule a call with me where I can try to get you pointed in the right direction so that injuries don’t hold you back next year!
