In this episode, a rambling 52 minutes, I chat with new friend Dr. Rebecca Tapia, physician, Mom and caregiver for her 89 year old grandmother. She has stood at the intersection of life-altering events and family dynamics for nearly 15 years as a PM&R physician, and now shares her combined personal and professional experiences to help others manage their mindset about supporting aging parents.
The issue of caring for aging relatives or others with limited mobility or cognitive issues is something many of us will wrestle with and the two of us swap personal recollections of family challenges through our lives. It was a lot of fun to record, and, on my part , cause for some soul-searching. I hope you find food for thought.
