Description

On this episode, we have the privilege of recording on-site while in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  We are going to discuss how to get here, where to stay, where to eat, and what to do while visiting Puerto Rico.  So pack a bag and join us in Sunny Puerto Rico.

Just to clarify US citizens don’t need a passport :) to travel to Puerto Rico but non U.S. citizens would still need one when traveling from the US.  Some of the following are affiliate links and if you book or make a purchase we may receive a small commission that helps us bring you this content.

Links we mention in the episode

We stayed at the Condado Ocean Club.  Book at Oceanview room for the best views of the Ocean.

To see some pictures see our blog post here all about this trip to Puerto Rico.

We also considered the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel right next door.

Location for walking around Old San Juan

We started at Cafe Quatto Sombras toward Casa Rosa and then wandered our way up to Castillo San Felipe del Morro because we mainly wanted to see the architecture

Can also start at La Casita de Rones down the Paseo de la Princesa toward El Morro along the outside of the wall

Where we ate

In Condado Beach Area

La Marqueta for quick food - like a food truck park but $$$

Pannes - breakfast and lunch served all day

Old San Juan

Dinner: Bacaro

Coffee Shop in Breakfast: Cafe Quattro Sombras

Diner we picked up lunch from: Cafe Manolin

La Vergüenza Viejo San Juan is a rooftop bar & restaurant - this bar & restaurant with one of the best meals we have had. Order appetizers as it took the food awhile to come out but it was worth the wait.

In Fajardo

La Estation

El Yunque National Forest

Recreation.gov link for parking reservations $2 - you'll need this to be able to get into the section to see the waterfalls (30 days in advance and then more open up 24 hours in advance)

We recommend you download the app El Yunque National Forest link and offline maps on Google before you go as there is little/no cell and data service in the Forest

We loved taking the Mixology class at Casa Bacardi
