Welcome to another episode of Kajabi in 5 Minutes. Today, we’re focusing on page organization and how you can move and control the placement of elements within a section on your Kajabi page. This episode primarily covers working with text blocks, feature blocks, and similar content elements.
When editing your Kajabi page—whether it’s a landing page, website page, or funnel page—you’ll see that all your content blocks are organized within sections. At the top of each block, there are blue boxes labeled with width values from 1 to 12. These numbers are your primary tool for sizing blocks:
Kajabi arranges content in rows, with each row totaling 12 width units. For example, if you have four text boxes set to a width of 3 each (3 x 4 = 12), they’ll fit perfectly on one row. If the combined width exceeds 12, the extra blocks automatically move to the next row.
Within the desktop layout settings for each block, there’s an option labeled "Place on its own row." This allows you to force a specific piece of content to occupy an entire row by itself, giving you more control over the layout.
To further refine your page layout, Kajabi offers inside and outside spacing controls in both desktop and mobile layouts:
Combining inside and outside spacing allows you to precisely position your content. For example, to overlay an image block with a text block, you can use negative outside spacing (like -500 on the top) to pull the text up and overlap it with the image above. This technique is powerful for creating layered visual effects.
Getting comfortable with these settings takes a bit of practice. Experiment with different width values and spacing options to see how they impact your page’s appearance. Adjusting these metrics helps you achieve the exact visual design you want.
Today’s episode focused on how to use content-level settings like width, inside spacing, and outside spacing to control the layout of your Kajabi pages. Mastering these tools allows you to create visually appealing and well-organized sections, whether you’re working with text, images, or feature blocks. While it may take some practice to get comfortable with these settings, experimenting with different combinations will help you achieve the exact look you want. In our next episode, we’ll dive deeper into section-level controls, which serve as the backbone for how your entire section is structured and displayed. Stay tuned to learn how to further enhance your page design and user experience!
