📜✨ NEW SONG: “The Economy of Prayer” — Why God Asks Us to Intercede When He Already Knows Everything
Most people never think about how strange prayer really is.
If God already knows what we need…
if His will is perfect…
if nothing surprises Him…
then why pray at all?
And even more —
why pray for each other?
Why does Paul begin 1 Timothy 2 not with a meditation on Christ the one Mediator,
but with a command:
“I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and thanksgivings be made for all people.”
Before he ever speaks of Christ as the one Mediator,
Paul tells the Church to be mediators.
Not rivals to Christ.
Not replacements.
But participants in the way God loves to work —
a divine economy where grace flows through human cooperation.
Because that’s the mystery:
God doesn’t need us…
but He chooses to involve us.
Just like He chose human authors for Scripture…
human preachers for the Gospel…
human ministers for the sacraments…
He chooses human voices to carry prayers
into the heart of His providence.
Intercession isn’t a glitch in the system.
It is the system.
And that’s the whole misunderstanding with praying to the saints.
People jump straight to,
“Why ask them to pray for you?”
without ever noticing the first question:
Why does God ask anyone to pray for anyone?
Because love multiplies.
Because grace grows when shared.
Because you matter.
And because the Body of Christ is one —
on earth and in heaven.
This song explores that supernatural logic:
how God weaves our prayers into His will
without diminishing His sovereignty
or our freedom
or Christ’s unique mediation.
