1) Maria Allred and Damien Genardi...Film Producers of The Texture of Falling. Tonight's show hearkens back to the roots of our show when we all collaborated and worked closely with the late Aaron Russo in the promotion, rollout and distribution of his documentary, America: Freedom To Fascism (AFTF). I met Maria several weeks ago and told her about our work with Aaron Russo's AFTF and our weekly podcast. Our show tonight supports the spirit and energy it takes to direct, film, produce and distribute an independent film. The Texture of Falling will be theatrically released in NYC during the first week of June 2018 - see details below...............MARIA ALLRED....Writer, Director, Producer, Director of Photography, Camera Operator /Cinematography, Art Director, Editor, Actor. Maria Allred is an independent filmmaker residing in Portland, OR. In her debut feature-film, The Texture of Falling, she pulled off the ambitious (and possibly insane) feat of acting as Writer, Director, DP, Producer, Actor, Editor, amongst many other roles. The film is has been described as a "great, unusual, and beautiful film,â?? by Fred Armisen, Actor/Writer/Producer; and as a "visual tour-de-force, by Pablo Zachai, Screenwriter. Film blogger, Maggie Stancu states, "Im trying to summon an adjective or phrase that could sum up the brilliance of what The Texture of Falling really is. But Im at a loss." Prior to directing her feature, she had three short films with television premieres on Oregon Lens and one on Oregon Art Beat. She graduated from Portland State University in 2012 with a B.S. in Liberal Arts, focus on film. Since childhood, Maria has passionately studied painting, poetry, creative non-fiction, and various forms of dance. In addition, she has for eight years studied Jungian philosophy with author and artist Paul Levy. Not coincidentally, her filmmakingâ?? strongly informed by visual art, music, and movement is poetic, symbolic, and visually driven.......................................DAMIEN GENARDI Co-Producer, Assistant Director, Second Camera Operator / Cinematography, Original Music, Musical Performer, Actor. Photographer/filmmaker Damien Genardi resides and creates in Portland, Oregon. Recent career highlights include photographing Julian Casablancas and The Voidz for Rock and Folk Magazine (France), Albert Hammond Jr. of the Strokes also for R&F, opera singer Richard Troxell, author Paul Levy, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols and Clem Burke of Blondie for R&F. Heralding from an opera and performance background, he brings a unique theatricality and immediacy to his work, as well as the nuanced sensitivity that stems from years of intensive vocal training. Prominent themes of his work include: the human complexities of expression, passion, and vulnerability; the magnetism of personal sexuality; the resilience of the human spirit; and the drive for survival. These themes marry with a strong visual aesthetic to make him an artist who is starting to get noticed.
