Tune into an interview with Christy Bonner, a rising senior at Virginia Tech and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, about her summer internship with Law Students in Court (LSIC). During the interview, Christy discusses some of her favorite intern projects including court watching, helping staff attorneys with clients, and managing LSIC Instagram and Twitter on Social Media Day. She shares how her LSIC experience and visit to Howard University School of Law helped her decide to attend law school. One of the biggest lessons she learned was how to step out of your comfort zone. At the end of the interview, she reviews law professor Michelle Alexander's "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness" and recommends "Why Jury Duty Matters" by law professor Andrew Ferguson for interns, law students and youth to read. The podcast is hosted and produced by LSIC Digital Communications Director Ananda Leeke. Visit DCLawStudents.org and sign up for the newsletter. Like Facebook.com/dclawstudents.
