Tune into an interview with Thomas Wood, a rising senior at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, about his summer internship with Law Students in Court (LSIC). During the interview, Thomas discusses some of his favorite intern moments including conducting housing inspections, meeting with juvenile clients and their probation officers, watching a LSIC attorney's moot court preparation, attending DC Public Defender Service trainings, and managing the LSIC Instagram account during the Intern Takeover. He also talks about the brown bag lunch discussion he organized and moderated with law professor Andrew Ferguson, author of "Why Jury Duty Matters: A Citizen's Guide to Constitutional Action." In addition, he shares how his internship inspired his decision to become a public defender. At the end of the interview, he reviews "Why Jury Duty Matters" and recommends "Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It" by Lisa Bloom for interns, law students and youth to read.
