The Pacific Northwest (PNW) is quite distinct in terms of logistics and the quality of the soybean from the area. The soybeans coming from the area have a specific quality profile. While lower in protein, they have a high concentration of amino acids.
In this podcast, Seth Naeve, Associate Professor and Soybean Agronomist from the University of Minnesota, discuss why the PNW is becoming more attractive to Asian buyers of soybean and soybean meal (sbm).
He also shares that PNW will remain important for Asian buyers and the challenges for area soybean producers regarding soybean and sbm exports and markets.
