A leak at an oil pipeline in Budang county of Northern Liech state has sparked concerns among the local population.
Reports say the leakage in Lalob and Unity oil fields has been going on for one month and residents have reported traces of crude oil floating on their water sources, and the surrounding environment.
The Greater Pioneer Operating Oil Company (GPOC), the company managing the oil field has been alerted of the leakage.
The Minister for information in Northern Liech State Information, David Gai Jejor, visited the site of the spill and described the damage as ‘extensive’.
