International Volunteer Day is celebrated each year by the UN General Assembly on December 5.  International Volunteer Day (IVD), is an opportunity for us all to promote volunteerism, encourage governments to support volunteer efforts and recognize volunteer contributions to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at local, national and international levels.

The theme for International Volunteer Day (IVD) 2019, “Volunteer for an inclusive future”, signifies that volunteers contributing to inclusion, and Sustainable Development Goal 10, hence, it aims to reduce inequality within and among countries.
