The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres is urging leaders in the world to prioritize older persons’ access to health and social protection. 

Guterres said the covid-19 has greatly impacted on health and wellbeing on older persons.

He said this in his message to commemorate International the Day of Older Persons, being observed today, October 1st, 2020. 

Day of Older Persons is an opportunity to highlight the important contributions that older people make to society and raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges of ageing in today's world.
