A group of veteran politicians and eminent members known as the ‘Jieng Council of Elders’ says their main objective is to advocate for peace.
The Jieng Council has garnered mixed reactions from two statements they released in recent weeks questioning the peace process and the political will of the parties.
Elder Aldo Ajau in an exclusive interview with Radio Miraya said nothing is likely to improve or work in South Sudan unless the political deadlock is broken.
Elder Ajau also responded to public perception that the Council has strong influence over the running of government and political affairs since the outbreak of the crisis in 2013.
