The South Sudan Doctors union says it is abolishing its plans to strike following the death of one its members in Unity state as well as other incidences in other parts of the country.

The leadership of the Union had earlier announced a 72hr ultimatum for the perpetrators to be investigated, arrested and brought to justice.

The acting chairperson of the union Dr. Anthony Garang told Radio Miraya that the Union has planned to cut off the strike in order to give the authorities time to carry out a thorough investigation.

He spoke on the Miraya Breakfast Show with Lucy Kiden and Philip Wani.
