The national ministry of health has confirmed 18 cases of COVID-19 out of 790 samples in its latest round of testing. The announcement was made on Sunday during the weekly press briefing on COVID-19. Speaking during the briefing, the Director of preventive Health Services Dr. John Romunu said the positive cases were a result of tests performed in all laboratories across the country. This brings the cumulative number of positive cases to 12,891 and the number of COVID-19 related deaths to 133. Dr Ronumu says there are no severe or critical cases in IDU.

On COVID – 19 vaccines, the World Health organization’s COVAX Coordinator Dr. Brendan Dineen said two more supplies of Johnson and Johnson are expected to arrive in the country this month. Brendan says the expected vaccines will be dispatched to the states and counties to ease people’s access to the vaccines.
