Description

One humanitarian worker has been killed and another injured in an attack on a UN World Food Program convoy in Jonglei state. Armed men attacked the convoy of five amphibious vehicles between Tindiir and Duk Padiet on Sunday morning, and sprayed the vehicles with bullets.

The WFP convoy was returning from Tindiir, where they had delivered five tons of live-saving food assistance for flood-affected people when it was ambushed. The Acting UN Humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan Matthew Hollingworth has condemned the targeted attack, and demands that authorities make every effort to bring the perpetrators to justice. He says the WFP has been forced to suspend operations in the area for safety concerns. He spoke to Miraya's Lokuri Henry. #TakeAListen
