The ministry of foreign affairs has said a delegation of the government will meet their counterpart from Sudan this week in Addis Ababa to discuss opening of the borders and border demarcation.
The discussions are part of attempts to revive the cooperation agreements signed in September 2012.
The three year deal was brokered by the African Union High Level Implementation Panel on Sudan and South Sudan and resulted in deals on the economy, security, oil and border demarcation.
The spokesperson for the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ambassador Mawien Makol Ariik told Radio Miraya that is crucial that the two countries sit and discuss the way forward for the Cooperation Agreements.
Mawien says South Sudan would like to renegotiate the tariffs for crude transit through Sudan due to a cut in production.
