Armed robbers broke into the fire brigade headquarters in Yambio last night.
Colonel Thomas Onyang , Director of the Western Equatoria State Fire Brigade office, says the attackers shot in the air to scare off the guards on duty and made off with an unspecified amount of cash.
The money was salaries for fire brigade personnel in three counties.
Onyang says the gunmen also took 20 guns and 2 boxes of bullets that were in the store.
