Peacekeepers serving with the UN mission in South Sudan rescued civilians from suspected robbers who struck at the UN protection of civilian’s site in Bentiu.
The robbers who were armed reportedly appeared on Friday in an area located about 200meters from the Mongolian peacekeepers observatory post in Bentiu.
Capt. Arinabat Choijomts, one of the Mongolian peacekeepers says after sensing danger, the peacekeepers swung into action, and repulsed the robbers, forcing them to abandon the loot as they fled the scene.
The peace keepers managed to recover some of the stolen items left behind by the suspected robbers as they fled the scene.
