The Special Representative of the Secretary General and Head of UNMISS, Ms. Ellen Margrethe Løj addressed the weekly UNMISS press briefing today.
The Head of the UN in South Sudan covered a range of issues; she welcomed the formation of the Transitional Government of National Unity and urged the interim government to immediately establish and make operational institutions provided for in the peace agreement.
Ms. Løj also noted the need for immediate attention to the economy and stressed the urgency to remove illegal checkpoints and allow unhindered humanitarian access.
