Description

The UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has opened a temporary operating base in Malakal town.

UNMISS spokesperson Ariane Quentier says some 5,000 people have left the protection of civilians’ site and are now in Makalal town.

Quentier said the operating base will help instil a sense of safety and security and enable humanitarian actors to deliver supplies to the populations.

A temporary base is also attending to populations in Wau Shilluk.
