Description

Around this time every year, dozens of parents of high school prospects ask IL's Terry Foy some version of the question, "How does recruiting work?"

In an effort to round out that answer, he's interviewing a series of DI men's lacrosse coaches about their process, continuing with Richmond head coach Dan Chemotti.

The only coach in program history, Chemotti has adjusted to leveling up the Spiders' targeted prospects in the wake of newfound heights, but what will it be like recruiting off the back of the program's first NCAA Tournament win? And what about doing so in the post-House Settlement landscape? As a sidebar, Chemotti led the men's coaches association committee that expanded the mid-summer dead period in 2026 and beyond, and he details what went into that process and outcome.
