Description

In this deeply personal and illuminating episode, Heather Garbutt welcomes Melinda Jacobs - a clinical hypnotherapist, trauma-informed coach and spiritual teacher - for an exploration of love, identity, and neurodiversity. Melinda shares her late-in-life autism diagnosis and how years of masking shaped her sense of self, relationships, and nervous system.

Together, they delve into the experience of navigating love while neurodivergent, the trauma of not being seen, and the power of attuned partnership. With warmth and insight, they challenge the cultural belief that independence means isolation, and invite listeners to embrace interdependence, self-awareness, and the kind of love that begins with curiosity and compassion.

Melinda also shares the therapeutic methods that have supported her healing, especially cellular release therapy, and the importance of shifting inner narratives that echo shame. The episode is a profound invitation to meet ourselves - and each other - with patience, presence, and care.
