Patient Director Adriana Solis, discussed Straight Talk! What's healthier about straighter teeth! The connection between your health and misaligned teeth. Misaligned teeth can lead to premature wear, tooth loss, gum disease, and build up of bacteria associated with bigger problems including heart disease. Bacteria and its byproducts trigger an inflammatory response in the body.  It is hard to remove plaque and bacteria from misaligned teeth.  This can lead to inflamed gums, soft tissue damage, receding gums, pockets between the teeth and gums, bone loss and tooth loss.  Poorly aligned teeth can put extra stress and pressure on the teeth and jawbone.  This stress and pressure can also lead to cold sensitivity, chipped or cracked teeth, TMJ, muscle pain, jaw pain and headaches.  Problems start in your mouth and can spread to the rest of the body. Severe gum infections increase the risk of Heart Disease, Stroke, Lung Diseases, Alzheimer's Disease, problems with Pregnancy and complications with Diabetes.
