Description

In the high-profile trial of former neonatal nurse Lucy Letby, she testified about her worsening mental health and denied allegations of intentionally harming any infants under her care. She described her incriminating diary notes as expressions of self-blame and guilt, not confessions. Letby's lawyer guided her through the timeline of her deteriorating mental state and the investigation into the tragic deaths in the neonatal unit. As the trial continues, the jurors will decide whether the diary notes and tragic incidents are evidence of a crime or the manifestations of a tormented mind blaming itself for circumstances beyond its control.
