Hey… welcome back to The Authentic Life with KL.
Today feels a little different…
because today, it’s just me.
And I want to invite you into something really personal.
This episode is about my new book… What Saved Us.
But more than that—
it’s about the moments that kept us here.
The things that held us together
when we felt like we were falling apart.
Because if you’re here listening…
there’s something that saved you too.
Maybe it was a song.
Maybe it was a person.
Maybe it was a moment where you almost gave up…
and somehow—you didn’t.
This book… didn’t come from a place of “having it all figured out.”
It came from the in-between.
From the breaking… and the becoming.
From the quiet questions like—
“Why did I stay?”
“What kept me going?”
“What actually mattered in the end?”
And what I realized is…
we don’t always notice what saved us while it’s happening.
Sometimes it’s small.
Sometimes it’s messy.
Sometimes it doesn’t look like healing at all.
But it counts.
So today… I want to do something really special.
I want to dive into letting go.
Letting go of the versions of us we outgrew…
the pain we kept carrying…
the stories we minimized…
and the parts of our lives we said “weren’t a big deal”…
even though they still live in our body.
And as we move through this episode…
I’m going to share a few readings from What Saved Us.
Pieces of my heart.
Pieces of truth.
And maybe… pieces of you too.
I don’t want you to just listen to this episode.
I want you to feel it.
I want you to think about your own story—
not just the big moments…
but the quiet ones.
The ones that don’t get talked about.
The ones that shaped you.
Because your story matters.
Not just the polished version…
but the real one.
So wherever you are right now—
driving, sitting, walking, working…
Take a breath with me.
And ask yourself…
“What saved me?”
Let’s go there… together.
