Description

The Autism in Black Podcast is hosted by Maria Davis-Pierre, LMHC and focuses on all things autism and the black parent experience. Our goal is to educate, support, and empower black parents to advocate not only for their children but themselves as well.

Today we are joined by Jeannette Washington, M.Ed who begins with telling us about how her career as a speech and language pathologist lead her to a career in tech and advocating for those with disabilities to pursue a career in tech. Jeannette goes on to talk about the intersection of race and disability and how that impacts a career in tech. She gives her advice to employers on how to be more inclusive to those who are black and disabled. Jeannette lastly talks about her book "Technical Difficulties" and how it can be a resource for those pursing a career in tech.
