Description

If James Hughes, Ph.D. had a Jersey-style nickname it might be “The Truth.” As Dean of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, Hughes studies New Jersey – its trends, its economy, and its population. With his colleague Dr. Joseph Seneca he has published many papers and studies about the Garden State, including one published last April that showed the population is surging back to New Jersey’s urban centers after a half-century of people leaving the city for the suburbs. Dean Hughes remarkably recalls statistics and historical economic facts about New Jersey as he talks about the New Jersey that once was, is now, and needs to become in order to thrive in the 21st century. This episode is sponsored by the Pollack Financial Group.
